I run my own photonic consulting company under the name MD Photonic Consulting LTD. I provide integrated photonic component device design/simulation and wafer scale GDS layouts, as well as advice.
I learned photonic design during my PhD at the Optoelectronics Research Center in Southampton University, where I was responsible for the complete simulation, design, fabrication and testing of several PIC's. After finishing my PhD I worked as the only photonics engineer at a start up company for two years where I produced numerous device designs, working on novel on-chip lasers and amplifiers. I have used many different software's and fabrication providers, which allows me to work within any existing framework you may have.
